Subsurface investigations

 

OPES personnel has ample experience in geology and hydrogeology to conduct subsurface investigations and plume delineation in an effective, economical and environmentally sound manner. OPES personnel is highly qualified to conduct geoprobe investigations, supervise the installation of monitoring wells, geophysical surveys and subsurface soil sampling, description, field screening and subsequent soil shipping and/or hand delivering to the laboratories. OPES utilizes approved Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) laboratories. OPES personnel has also extensive experience in the development, purging and sampling of monitoring wells.

 

Lead-Based Paint Abatement

OPES has applied cost-effective strategies to perform LBP abatament on interior and exterior surfaces. LBP abatements include preparation of SSHPs, collection and analysis of pre- and post- abatement soil samples, and execution of abatement.

Phase I Environmental Assesment
A phase I environmental assessment includes a site description detailing site observation, location, adjacent properties and utilities. It also addresses record reviews which involves on-site and off-site research, regulatory review, summary of regulatory listings, physical setting sources and historical land use. It also includes a site reconnaissance and interviews which entails geographic settings, topography, geology and hydrology, site conditions and report preparation.

Phase II Environmental Assestment
A phase II environmental assessment may include installation of soil borings and/or monitoring wells and sampling of surface and sub-surface soils, and/or groundwater depending on the specific environmental concerns.
